Everyone’s healing journey is unique. These therapeutic approaches are tailored to meet you where you are, helping you gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful change at your own pace.
Approaches to Healing
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, hands-on approach to helping people feel better by changing the way they think and act. The idea is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected—so if we learn to spot and shift negative thinking patterns, we can change how we feel and what we do.
For example, if you’re constantly thinking “I’m not good enough,” that can lead to feeling anxious or down—and then avoiding people and doing things you care about. CBT helps you recognize those thoughts, challenge them, and replace them with more balanced, helpful ones. It’s not about pretending everything is perfect—it’s about learning tools that help you deal with real-life struggles in a healthier, more effective way.
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy designed to help people heal from painful or traumatic experiences. It’s especially effective for things like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and difficult memories that still cause distress.
During EMDR, the therapist guides you to briefly think about a troubling memory while also doing something repetitive—like following a moving light or tapping—called bilateral stimulation. This process helps your brain reprocess the memory so that it feels less upsetting and more manageable.
EMDR doesn’t erase the memory, but it helps take away the emotional charge, so you can think about it without feeling overwhelmed. It’s a natural, structured approach that helps the brain heal, much like how the body heals a physical wound.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)is a type of therapy that helps clients who feel stuck because of negative things that have happened in their pasts. IFS is based on the idea that we all have different “parts” inside of us—like a whole internal family. For example, you might have a part that’s angry, a part that feels shame, a part that tries to keep everything under control, and a part that just wants to hide. These parts often form in response to life experiences, especially painful or overwhelming ones.
IFS helps you get to know these parts, understand how they are trying to help you, and bring healing where it’s needed. Instead of fighting with yourself or trying to shut parts of you down, you learn to listen with compassion and lead with your true self—the calm, confident, wise part at the core of who you are. The goal is to help your inner system work together in a healthier, more balanced way.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and make healthier choices. It combines strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness techniques to help people stay present and in control, even during stressful situations.
DBT is especially helpful for people who struggle with strong emotions, self-harm, or difficulties in relationships. It teaches practical skills in four key areas:
- Mindfulness – staying focused and aware in the moment
- Distress Tolerance – coping with tough situations without making them worse
- Emotion Regulation – understanding and managing strong feelings
- Interpersonal Effectiveness – communicating clearly and setting healthy boundaries
DBT is structured, supportive, and proven to work. It’s about finding balance: accepting yourself as you are, while also working toward positive change.
Sandplay Therapy
Sandplay therapy is a gentle, creative form of therapy that uses a tray of sand and miniature figures—like people, animals, and buildings—to help people express thoughts and feelings they might not have words for.
In a safe, supportive environment, clients (children or adults) create scenes in the sand tray. These scenes often reflect what’s going on inside emotionally or mentally. Without needing to talk much, people can explore fears, hopes, trauma, or confusion in a way that feels natural and healing.
Sandplay therapy is especially helpful for children, but it can be powerful for adults too. It taps into the deep, inner world and helps people process emotions, reduce stress, and move toward healing—often when traditional talk therapy isn’t enough.

Equine Therapy
Equine therapy, also known as horse therapy, is a unique and powerful form of therapy that involves working with horses to support emotional growth and healing. You don’t need any riding experience—in fact, much of the therapy happens on the ground, through activities like grooming, leading, and simply spending time with the horse.
Horses are highly sensitive animals that respond to human emotions and body language. Because of this, they can help people become more aware of their feelings, build confidence, improve communication, and develop trust—both in themselves and others.
Equine therapy is helpful for people dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship issues, and more. The bond with the horse creates a calming, non-judgmental space where healing can happen naturally.
